1963 Hi-Po Hauler

The Hi-Po Hauler was designed and built by the crew at Gas Monkey Garage in collaboration with Hot Wheels® for an opportunity to be replicated as a Hot Wheels® Red
Line Club 1:64 die-cast vehicle. The build aired on the Discovery Channel’s show, Fast n’ Loud

  • Ford 520 stroker big-block engine, conservatively tuned at 700 horsepower
  • Dual Holley carburetors
  • Edelbrock aluminum heads
  • Ford C6 automatic transmission
  • Weiand supercharger
 

Design

  • Driver seat moved to the middle, single seat only
  • Engine moved to the truck bed and facing backwards 
  • A Menkens marine V-drive gear box redirects the power to the rear wheels
  • Chris Alston’s Chassisworks Eliminator II rear frame section
  • Hand-pinstriped with engine-turned gold leaf lettering logos on the sides
